The Scottish Mediation Network (SMN) is delighted to announce the appointment of Graham Boyack as its new Director.

Graham has worked extensively in the third and public sector and brings senior leadership experience, having worked in Student Unions, The Festival City Theatres Trust and the Scottish Ambulance Service. He has strong skills in partnership working, governance, policy development, has an MBA and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Having worked with a range of approaches central to mediation such as shuttle diplomacy and coaching, Graham is looking forward to further developing these practices
whilst in post.

Commenting on his appointment Graham said:

“I am really excited about the opportunity to lead the team at SMN. Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) are powerful ways of resolving complaints and disputes in a range of situations. You only have to look at the positive impact the use of mediation has had across Europe to see its potential for development in Scotland.”

Charlie Irvine Chair of the Board of SMN commented:

“Graham joins the network at an exciting stage of SMN’s development. I am sure he will help us to establish the use of mediation as the norm in a range of areas across Scottish life. A key area for SMN is to strengthen the accreditation framework and professional development opportunities for mediators and this is an area where Graham’s experience will be extremely valuable.”
