SUMMARY:Ethics and the Mediator
DESCRIPTION:This Online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Course will be conducted over a half-day in October 2023. Suitable for all mediators in the workplace\, civil & commercial\, medical\, family or community sectors. Ethical principles provide the foundations for professional practice as a mediator\, but many mediators find ethical issues challenging in practice. Ethical factors also significantly influence how mediation is viewed outside the profession. \nCourse Aim: To help you reflect on professional ethics as a Mediator \nCourse Objectives: As a result of completing this CPD\, you will be able to:\n• Define ethics in the context of mediation\n• Differentiate between ethics and compliance\n• Develop a plan for dealing with ethical issues in professional practice \nTopic Covered\nThis online course will introduce participants to the concept of ethics related to professional practice. DESCRIPTION:This National Conflict Resolution Day\, Cyrenians Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) will host a free\, online event\, ‘Mediation – A Success Story?’\, on Thursday\, 19 October\, 10am\, featuring Alan Jeffrey\, Senior Mediator at Cyrenians. I’ve included more information about the event in a news release I’ve attached to this email. \n‘Mediation – A Success Story?’ will explore how to make mediation as effective as possible.
