SUMMARY:Young Mediators in Conversation with Henrietta Jackson - Stops of IPOS Mediation
DESCRIPTION:Come along (virtually) to join ‘In our (Young Mediators) conversation with Henrietta Jackson-Stops’\, about all things mediation\, in particular what the future holds for the profession. In addition to being a highly experienced mediator\, Henrietta is at the forefront of innovation in the mediation sector due to her roles in running IPOS Mediation\, as a Board Member of the Civil Mediation Council\, and her high-profile role in the mediation community (including as a member of the Strategy Board of London International Disputes Week). \nAs well as hearing Henrietta’s thoughts on where now and where next for mediation\, we’re keen to hear your questions\, so part of the session will be an open forum where you can put your questions to Henrietta\, on any and all things mediation. All are welcome to attend. \nAbout Henrietta \nHenrietta mediates a wide range of civil and commercial disputes alongside her role in running and managing IPOS Mediation.  Henrietta has a particular interest in disputes involving family businesses\, trusts and relationships and those with a public law element.  She represents IPOS as a Board Member of The Civil Mediation Council. Henrietta’s career began as a litigator at Allen & Overy\, advising clients in both litigation and international arbitration. \nShe subsequently gained an LLM in Public International Law before continuing her career at the Government Legal Department advising on matters of public law and judicial review for the Home Office.  Her experience of advising the Government has given her a clear understanding of the powers and duties of public bodies and the pressures which make disputes involving public bodies unique in character.  Henrietta’s experience of public international law\, especially in relation to international and investor-state arbitration\, gives her particular expertise in this area.
