SUMMARY:Shuttle Mediation CPD - Glasgow
DESCRIPTION:Scottish Mediation and Scottish Community Mediation Centre are delighted to be working in partnership to offer this CPD which will facilitated by Ian McDonough (see biography below). \nShuttle mediation has often been eclipsed by the more familiar technique of face to face mediation. Despite this\, it continues to be a widely-used process in the resolution of disputes\, particularly in the fields of neighbour and commercial mediation. \nWhat results can we reasonably expect from shuttle mediation? What are the similarities and differences between shuttle and face to face work? Are there specific techniques we should be deploying? What are the pitfalls\, and what can mediators do to overcome them? \nThis interactive three-hour session will explore these issues and suggest a possible framework for undertaking shuttle mediation. \nIan McDonough Biography \nIan McDonough is a trainer and consultant specialising in mediation\, restorative practice and conflict resolution. Among the agencies he has recently worked with are Chartered Institute of Housing\, City of Edinburgh Council\, Inspiring Scotland\, Scottish Community Development Centre\, Stirling Council and Strathclyde University. He was Manager of Sacro’s Scottish Community Mediation Centre from 2000-2017. \nIan is a very experienced mediator in a range of community settings. He is a former Chair of Scottish Mediation and Mediation UK\, and is currently a member of the Fitness to Practice Panels of the General Teaching Council of Scotland and Scottish Social Services Council. \nFor booking details please click here
