SUMMARY:ALA & Scottish Land Commission – Mediation in the Tenant Farming Sector
DESCRIPTION:This event has been postponed. It is hoped to run it later in the year.Details will be published when available. \nThe Scottish Land Commission and the Agricultural Law Association\, in association with Scottish Mediation\, invite you to a unique training event: a mock mediation to try to resolve a waygoing from an agricultural holding. \nThe event will be introduced by Jon Robertson (Turcan Connell) and Bob McIntosh (Tenant Farming Commissioner). \nIn our mock scenario\, Pamela Lyall\, Mediator\, and Lindsay Burley\, Mediator\, Eskhill and Co\, have been instructed as mediators and will work with the Landlord and the Tenant to try to reach a mutually acceptable outcome. Robin Burley\, Eskhill and Co\, will host the mock mediation and enable delegates to ask questions as the process unfolds. \nThose participating in the mock mediation for the Landlord and for the Tenant are: \nLandlord’s representative – David Johnstone\, Scottish Land & Estates; \nLandlord’s solicitor – Heather Bruce\, Turcan Connell; \nLandlord’s land agent – Gordon Kerr\, Savills. \nGeneral Partner of Tenant – Christopher Nicholson\, STFA; \nTenant’s solicitor – Hamish Lean\, Shepherd+ Wedderburn; and \nTenant’s land agent – Tom Oates\, youngsRPS. \nPapers prepared by Jamie Whittle\, R & R Urquhart \nSir Crispin Agnew of Lochnaw Bt\, QC will provide a summary of mediation outcomes and concluding remarks \nThe event is open to ALA Members\, colleagues\, landlords\, tenants\, their advisors and interested parties from the rural sector. \nFor more information and booking please click  Click here \nCost : £30 plus VAT (£36) per delegate
