John D Owen

Based in rural Northumberland, John has worked in maritime for more than 40 years.  Originally spending 17 years at sea with command experience in worldwide trades.  Since 1990 he has been involved in marine liability and property insurance (P&I and Hull and Machinery) within the International Group of P&I Clubs.

John has been a CEDR accredited mediator since 2003.

Now trading as Bernicia Marine Consultants Limited – offer mediation and early dispute resolution services alongside marine claims consultancy, navigation assessments, speed and performance claims and salvage liaison services to shipowners, ISU salvage contractors and underwriters during marine casualties.

Community mediation is offered pro-bono within Northumberland and Scottish Borders area.
