We are delighted to have received some funding from the Foundation Scotland Response, Recovery and Resilience Fund (https://www.foundationscotland.org.uk/programmes/community-response,-recovery-resilience-fund/) to deliver some online training sessions for young people to support them to deal with the impacts that the Covid-19 pandemic is having upon their relationships.
We are hearing lots of stories about young people struggling with the current situation as a result of lockdown, social-distancing, not being able to socialise in the same way, and with the regular interruptions to their lives and their schooling. These issues are leading to tensions which are having a knock-on effect on their relationships, whether that is with their peers, friends, families, school-staff, carers or others.
We believe that young people need support to navigate these tricky times and so have adapted our peer mediation programme to a shorter online version, which can offer young people some essential skills, techniques and practical tools to support them to deal positively with the challenges they are facing.
The training sessions are aimed at young people of high school age and can be delivered over a 2 hour (or 2 school periods) session. Delivery days and times are negotiable to fit in with the school.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Sarah Welsh on sarah@scottishmediation.org.uk and she would be happy to have a conversation with you to see how best to fit your needs.
